Lemme smash
My roommate and I have been playing an unholy amount of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. It is a lot of fun! The controls are a bit challenging for me since I'm not a console gal at all, but I'm doing my best. I love playing Zelda, Pikachu, Samus, and Palutena, and I need to practice playing Mewtwo since he's my favorite Pokemon. :D
The 18th was my birthday & it was surprisingly nice. I'd honestly been dreading it a bit, but it turned out okay. We went out for dinner and absolutely stuffed our faces with delicious Japanese food. My sister called to wish me a happy birthday, which was really cool and unexpected since we rarely talk. I also played a bit of Prey (my hand slipped & now I'm playing male Morgan again lol) and did some research for one of my fanfic WIPs.
I'm 30 now! Wow. I don't feel 30 at all. I guess I thought I'd suddenly start to be more of an adult, but unsurprisingly I haven't noticed any sudden changes. I do think I've done a bit of growing up this past year. I've certainly gotten better at making phone calls (which I hate), and I started bullet journaling again, so my life is a lot more organized now than it was last year!
My anxiety levels have been rather high for a few weeks & it's pretty exhausting. I think it's mostly a seasonal thing. I hope I can find some time to relax this weekend. And I need to pick up writing again--it tends to fall by the wayside when I'm not in a good headspace, but I know it'll make me feel a lot better once I start again. I hope I can get some words out over Christmas!
So I still want to do a WIP post, and I thought maybe it'd be nice to write up a more detailed friends-locked intro post where I tell you guys a bit more about myself? Would that be interesting/informative? God, I'm so out of practice with blogging, I feel like I need to learn how to do it all over again haha. I'm tempted to just post a lot of memes & ramble about the minutiae of the fanfics I'm reading. :D

We're all learning how to blog together! Welcome to the New Age of fandom. XD
I'd love to hear about your fanfics, and also--bullet journaling! I'm not a bullet journaler but I do art journaling so there's a significant amount of overlap specifically in the arena of washi tape...

Haha, yes! I'm glad I'm not the only one who's feeling a bit out of their depth. As bad as things are going for Tumblr, and as sorry I am for all those NSFW artists who are getting fucked over, I'm really glad about this migration to DW. Tumblr is fun, sure, but never really clicked with me the way DW has done so far.
WASHI TAPE. Oh my God. I fucking love washi tape. I own way too many & have been known to buy an entire pack of unimpressive ones just because there was ONE roll I really liked... yeah, I have a problem xD;
Art journaling sounds cool! Would you mind telling me more about it? I don't think I've heard about it before, so I'm curious! :)

Ooh, of course! Basically, I SUCK at actually using planners (and this is after literal years of trying and failing). They give me more anxiety than they resolve, so I decided to turn my love of papercrafting and saving random pieces of ephemera into something a little saner.
I keep a journal (and do other independent scrapbook-style pages) where I...um, kind of just do art. Instead of using it for a planner or an actual record, I do stamps and incorporate (mostly flat) mixed media. Not much in the way of writing. Sometimes I jot a note, but a lot of times it's just pieces of aesthetic ephemera reflecting a mood or weekly obsession (I did a whole page for Gravity Falls the week my friend and I binged it, the week I came out to another friend I did a queer-themed page).
So yeah. I'm not sure I'm being super clear, but I'm planning to upload a couple photos of some of my favorite pages at the end of the year!
Also, I envy you people who can actually maintain a bullet journal. They seem SO cool, and I am just. Not there. XD
